Luxembourg and Trier
Went on a 4 day vacation this weekend with plans of hitting Bruges, Belgium. About three hours into the drive we got a "flat" tire. We had to stop in Ramstein at the airforce base to get it fixed and ended up staying there. The next morning (Saturday) we headed to Luxembourg which is a beautiful, tiny country about the size of Atlanta. We spent the day walking around the city and looking at the castle.
then we headed into Trier, Germany. Trier is the oldest city in Germany founded around 13 BC. It houses some Roman rouins dating back to 300 AD (the black gate or porta negra) an entrance gate to the city. It also houses a greek bath dating back to 300 AD. We walked around the city all day.  It was a long, exhausting day, but it was beautiful. oh, outside of Luxembourg we went to a U.S. cemetery from WW2. 5,700 soldiers are buried there including General Patton. We also saw Carl Marx's house in Trier.
We are now safely home and anxiously awaiting our household goods arrival tomorrow. Still no internet yet.
